Thanks for the useful guide. I can deal with timing chain slap.
I might put on some slightly straighter bars, but this bike is very comfy as
is. Are there any common modifications that improve the factory setup?

I'd love if someone could tell me if the sporty windshield from the 700s would

I have a drip of oil flowing out of my left side engine cover. Seems to me, the
most logical reason is the o-ring that seals it! Problem is, it seems every
website I check lists this item as not available! Where can I find it? Or what

That could be something. I'll check it out after new Piston comes in.
The only one leaking is the only one I didn't replace a piston on, so I'm

My calipers have pistons parallel to one another.
There is no boot. Only two seals for each piston. A big seal for the brake
fluid, and a smaller seal closer to the edge of the bore.

I actually found a cheap nighthawk 650 caliper on eBay and made an offer. It

Hopefully it's not pitted or scratched. It's supposed to be from a bike with

Kyle, just wanted to say thanks again. Fortunately it was not the ignition
switch, but the plug that goes into the fuse panel. I'm afraid the bolts that
hold the ignition switch in place are stripped and impossible to remove cleanly.
I cleaned the contact with some electrical cleaner and it star
I know I'm just playing catch-up on 30 years of neglected maintenance, but
