Hello everyone,
I bought my beautiful '85 NH 700 on March 1st, she now has 41K on the clock.
I've got 3 questions today, so thanks for any and all help.
First two are related:
Every single time since we hooked up, she's started on the very first go,
until 2 days ago...
It had been about 10 days since the last ride.
On the first try, engine caught for a few seconds but then died, then I put
the starter through hell for 15 minutes, and just got a few coughs, and
couldn't believe the battery didn't seem to be weakening at all, so I just
kept going (Sorry starter).
Suddenly she started right up like normal.
My only impression is she wasn't getting fuel, but I have nothing to base
that on. Should I try spraying some starter fluid into the air box if
there's a next time of this?
Second part of this question: get a trickle charger for the battery, even
though it doesn't seem to be the culprit in this case? I had planned to
just ride her once a week through winter so I wouldn't have to worry about
the battery....
We went for a ride yesterday, and she started on the 1st try....
Third, unrelated, question, I've been following along on the thread of the
engine guards from eBay/Vietnam, and it seemed they had gotten good reviews
(?), perhaps the only thing was a bit of hassle on the installation?
I've looked on eBay, but only see them in chrome, anyone have any ideas for
finding them in black?
Thank you Everyone, take care,
William
