On the 80s bikes the clutch switch is only held on by one screw an is
much easier to test for continuity when off the bike. If the switch is
good and Pulling in the lever doesn't close the circuit the. You
either have bad wires or the lever may not be fully depressing the
switch for whatever reason

The only way I can start my bike is in neutral. I have checked the
clutch switch by shorting the two wires coming into the switch and I
get nothing. I have also checked both the switch and wires for
continuity with my multimeter. To check the switch, I connected my
multimeter to both spades on the
