The risers themselves came back far enough to hit the tank? If it is the
bars hitting then what you can do is get a piece of aluminum bar stock and
cut/glue it to the handlebar stops. You will loose a bit of turning radius
but you will only miss that when moving the bike around the garage. My

I have had tremendous success and comfort raising the handlebars on my
previous bikes. In the short time that I have ridden my 2003 CB750, up and
perhaps back a bit would make the ride that much sweeter.
