Oh, and it is like a paste. Piston must be grinding down. Now I won't ride it
anymore for fear of failure. Will start on the top end when I decide on and
get parts.

The plugs are brand new, now. Those are old. And sadly, I think you are right
aluminum. I guess I will have to do a top end to it. Any suggestions on boring
out, how much, best Pistons?

Is that an aluminum deposit? The ceramics on the plugs have a nice color.

Mixture screws vary by carb manufacturer or model but generally 1/8 turns
are the increment you will want to use. Is the air filter clean? Also some
here have had issues on that bike with K&N filters flowing too much air.

If it does it intermittently I'd more say that's a sign "something isn't
clean" than "something's out of adjustment."

All is stock, I think. The only possible non-stock could be the jets, but I
don't think so. Just had the carbs synced and pilots adjusted. It does this
intermittently. Sometimes, it takes off like God intended.
How sensitive are the pilot screws? Will a 1/16 turn be notic

I've taken the time to jet before, and it is a pita. I think I pulled my
carbs a half dozen times to change jets and needle positions. I used the
factory pro tuning guide as a reference. However I found that you should

Stock airbox and filter with stock exhaust? If yes there is a carburetor

practice is to open the idle fuel mix open, but the correct way is a jet kit

OK first off what bike? Am I understanding the issue correctly. You are in
a high gear and it accelerates sluggishly with misfires? The pilot jets
only matter for idle and up to 1/4 throttle so if your too rich at big
throttle openings then most likely the main jets are too big. Have you done

Especially you, but anyone with tips. Paid someone to set it with a
probe. Wanted it perfect, but It ain't right! He will fix, but it is over an
hour away. In a slightly too high a gear, it accelerates, but skips a little.
