On my 85 700 I get 49mpg on the freeway 70mph and on back roads up to
65mpg at ave speed of 45mph. city driving I get 42mpg stop and go ave
speed of 25mph

I suspect, as a 450 owner, that one of the issues with the 450 is that
in order to get moving you tend to push it a bit more and particularly
in traffic I find myself running a gear low in order to have the
ability to speed up quickly. I would think that a larger engine would
be able to get away wi
You know, before I got my 650, I was very torn between it and the 450.
I did lots of research and I found that the 450 was reported to get
about the same gas mileage as the 650. That was part of the reason I
got a 650.
I bet there is a way to modify yours to get better mileage without

Wh my 450 is getting about 47-50 city. I should be at like 70 :D
Keeping it fed isn't the problem I just wish I could go more than 100
miles without a fill up.

Well if you spend allot of time idling, a higher idle may slightly
reduce your mileage...not much though. I would be more worried about
cooling (but then I am in Texas). Remember that being air cooled,
there is no increase in cooling (no water pump/ fan) for an increase
in rpm (fu
