I bought a lockable box on eBay that the license plate mounts to. I can't find it on eBay right now. It's about an inch deep and fits an extra key and all my legal paperwork. I taped / wedged the spare key for that box into the lining of my helmet. I don't always have my jacket with me. Sea

I attached a small pelican case to the rear fender license plate spot (took off the bracket) that holds a net, some chain lube and other small items (keep it locked). License plate went on the lid (and it folds down) with a couple really small LED lights for it. A hidden key would be perfect
