I'm not against having weekly posts. I was implicitly assuming that due to
limited resources weekly posts may not be possible. In other words, I meant we
should have _at least_ monthly posts. :-)
We used to have a "this month in Nim" and vlog developer updates. We should do
them again. I'm not really sure why efforts like these come and go. I do know
that my live streaming sessions stopped with Corona. :-)
> Yes, a regular blog post would be great. It doesn't have to be weekly
It really should be weekly!
In old days tv stations played Columbo weekly, and we all remembered the week
day and watched it.
Our physical garbage collector truck comes monthly, and it is really hard to
remember.

Lesson: Don't use words or phrases you don't know well. :-D If in doubt, look
up words in a dictionary. I do this all the time, even if I'm "rel
The community isn't robust enough to foster such an attitude unless we're fine

how the suckless.org community is in the domain of GNU/Linux software.

Hi, I'm very new to Nim, so far it's been an interesting experience. I'll
provide my perspective, not to debate it, instead, to share what it's like as I
bump into walls and try to figure things out.

Yes, but I think someone must answer the questions. Some years ago Araq does it
often himself in IRC, but I think now Araq prefers to do real work. When I
looked at IRC logs last time, maybe in June, Mr disruptec did most of
answering. And as far as I know he is a hired devs for incremental comp

news about developing and also about some internals.

Something neglected in this analysis is that as the community grows, the core
devs will not _need_ to answer questions as much. As long as growth is

I agree, pictures is a very effective way to get people's attention and to
convey information. [Julia's](https://julialang.org/) website got a "Ecosystem"
section if you scroll down just a bit where they showcase a picture or
animation from each one of its most common areas. Something along the

Stefan, I _really_ liked your post - until the last paragraph. What's wrong
with people coming to a new technology ("new" from their perspective) and
asking questions to find out if they want to continue with this technology? In
my opinion, there's nothing moronic about that, but it's completely

This attitude will destroy any potential community no matter how good the tech
or how pretty the pictures.
I recently thought about the reason why gintro has only about 100 github stars
and so few users. One reason is obviously that the package has a long textual
description but only a few tiny pictures. Adding a file dialog pic and maybe a
pic of my chess game would help for sure.
