[nlug] Wireless (radio) access point question.

2009-07-14 Thread Perkins, Jerry
I am updating the wireless (radio) network at our Church. So a couple of best practices questions. 1) For the SSID, is it best to use the same one for each access point? 2) Is it best to use different radio frequencies (aka channels) or the same common frequency? -- Jerry Perkins - htt

Yes on both counts. For ease of use, just use the same SSID on all access points, but use different channels, where possible. Try to just use Channel 1, 6, and 11, as those are the so-called "clear channels". If you have some close neighbors using any of those channels, then avoid them. Chris O

Morning everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knows of a way to clear the stored form information for a single specific site in Firefox 3.5? I know I can clear ALL stored information, but I really just want to keep it all except for information stored for one site. Thanks, Andy --~--~-

I think in other versions, you can clear stored info on a field by highlighting the suggestion and pressing shift+delete. This works by the name of the input box and is likely to match other websites that name their input box as "login" and "user" or whatever the name of this field is. On Tue, J

802.11g uses frequency hopping, so close channels overlap some. The overlap goes out to 4 channels, so 1-5 overlap, 2-6, etc. 1 and 6 and 6 and 11, however, don't overlap at all, so if you have three routers in close proximity, you can use those three channels without them stepping on each other

There used to be a performance arts place on charlotte, near NES that had that kinda thing. I think they had a tattoo parlor too. I'd start there. -T Jack wrote: > Where can I find liquid latex in Nashville? I need a couple of > gallons. At a reasonable > price of course. (in the range of $50/
