Greetings!
I've always used KDE, except when using old/weak hardware, then I use
whatever I can make work (e.g., XFCE, LXDE, etc.) I've also been using
Fedora for several (6-8?) years. But my recent "upgrade" from Fedora 22
to 23 has left me very underwhelmed with the look of KDE. This whole
"flat" style is IMO, ugly and boring. I would just use the same themes,
styles, etc. that I'm using now, but I can't find anything similar
that's compatible with Plasma 5.
I *think* the relevant bits I'm using but can't find replacements are...
- Window Decorations: Crystal 2.2.1 Preview
- Desktop Theme: Androbit (Oxygen is pretty close to this)
I'm sure some of my confusion is due to the settings groups being
shuffled around in the System Settings application, but I'm still
confused. Any suggestions on how to get my "old school" transparency and
glossiness back?
And while I'm whining... Google's "Material Design" is also boring and
ugly. And it's also illogical that for an OS used primarily on
battery-powered devices the main color theme is predominantly white.
Yeah, Google, you're SOOoooo doing everything you can to increase
battery life.
OK, I'm done whining and will now go back to trying out openSUSE.
