great, but RimuHosting is more expensive because they offer premium support

I'm open to dedicated server, but cost is usually much higher or you
provide your own hardware. I'm open to doing this as storage is much less
expensive if you are providing it yourself, but it has other drawbacks.
I don't really care if I get hardware or a VM as I'm not doing anything
particular
I've been using Linode since it was based in Nashville and mentioned on the
NLUG list. They've since moved their headquarters to suburban
Philadelphia but they're still rock solid.

I use vpsdime.com for my VPS needs currently. They run as cheap as
$7/mo, for what is a very adequate server, in terms of CPU. If you
need a lot of storage space, I'd look elsewhere.
