Hello NLUG, We are in a situation with our Joomla website and have a Square Space web designer offering to rebuild the entire site instead of waste time fixing the broken Joomla situation. I do want to move away from Joomla, but online review of Square Space mentions backups not being a feature and I believe exporting the site is a related unavailable feature.
The developer told me: " *Squarespace doesn’t require backups because all data is held on dynamic servers that can move around without the end user even noticing. * * Backups are not even a consideration. What is, is access control to ensure you don’t have unauthorized people making changes you may have to undo. But that’s proper change management and that’s assumed in any efficient organization because it’s fundamental."* I'm wondering if we do have a security breach mess things up, can we undo the damage by restoring? And if we decide that Square Space isn't for us, exporting to something else would be good. Have any of you dealt with Square Space before? -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
