Hi all,
Sounds positive overall. I volunteer to process/edit the video if no one
else wants to take it.
Best,

Dave - yeah, I don't know if we'd want to youtube/vimeo/etc or self-host
some mp4's but either way - having them on the NLUG site is key.

I think it would be an excellent idea, as long as the videos are indexed

youtube would be fine as long as they consistently went to an NLUG account that
say people could subscribe to. Who knows, it could become a revenue generator
for the club. Maybe work on a stylish nlug logo to overlay into the video to
improve self advertisement. Should easily allow for David's

It wasn't. I brought that up from a historical (or as my in-laws always
say - hysterical) perspective. No, I do not wish to real-time stream
our meetings. Having edited topic
Ohhh, ok yeah - good deal. :)
Agreed on the value. For instance - I know when I was planning on moving to
the area it would have helped to see what NLUG had been doing for topics,
just to get a little more acquainted with my future city.

We tech types are often anti-social in nature. We've always rejected the

I don't think that video streamed from the meeting would reduce the
attendance much. It might allow a few people to watch that otherwise
would not get the chance.
It is certainly possible to stream video real time. I have a TV studio
that does that to deal with every day.

On Thu,
Agreed. Good talks are educational for the entire world, not just for the
limited amount of people that are able to attend meetings in person.

I'm in favor of recording presentations for web distribution. There have
been great presentations when I have either been sick or work demands
prevent my attending.
Also, I have online friends who are interested in some of our

Hi all,
I was thinking about past NLUG presentations and how, although the
presentation material is usually available afterwards, the conversation
during the presentations is helpful and lost after the meeting (unless
someone is taking notes LOL).
So - what would people say to having the
I think if we had recordings of the presentations and meetings, attendance
would DRASTICALLY drop.
