I just setup Moneywell a week or two ago. When my first salary
deposit arrived in our checking account, I assigned it to the "Salary"
income bucket, but the amount in the bucket remained at zero, so I
can't allocate any of that income to the expense buckets. What did I
do wrong here?

After following your suggestion the numbers look correct now, if I
understand how things work. (I'm still learning, and the more I learn
the more I like about it.)
The upgrade to 1.4.4 arrived today, and I have installed it. I'll let
you know next pay day if it happens again.
