I set it up in a way that it would be easy to extend to google cloud storage.
It is not currently being used with google cloud storage in this commit.

Yes, it is better, but take into account that if the `isSoapPayload` returns
false you are not updating the payload in the response, and the original input
stream might be already read. I'd put the soap check inside the try/finally
block to make sure the response always
Out of curiosity. Can this auth approach be used now with the cloud storage
provider?
