function, insert the result of calling the function into the buffer.
This allows a user to generate custom fields in the output of a search
result. For example, with:

format lists, allow functions that can be used to implement per-user
logic when generating the results.

Ideally I would like to not include a quoted reply by default, unless
I've selected the region, in which case the region should be inserted
into the reply.
