I don't suppose you can copy /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT somewhere (copy

It looks more like xserver bug. Because of zero appearance of Nouveau in the
callchain it's not certain you are using Nouveau...

Still present in kernel 3.6.2, even with acpi_backlight=vendor
nouveau.force_post=1 and "Support for backlight control" disabled in the kernel
configuration.
