timeout where the GPU just says "ok, you've been running for too long,
goodbye" and grabs the registers that happen to be in the configured
outputs and moves on. Perhaps based on executed instruction count,

The method we previously used on Fermi and Kepler (0x142c) to flush
the VBO cache before draw appears to be gone on Maxwell. Is there a
replacement method we should use?
(Or perhaps that method was never meant for VBO cache flush and
instead flushed something related to the vertex quaranti

I was bisecting and it *appeared* to go well. Apparently something else must be
involved as the last known good commit (worked during the bisect) no longer

Can you check if older mesa builds work (like 10.2 or 10.3)? If they do, you
can try bisecting. I've had another report of Portal crashing with nouveau, and
it being a recent phenomenon...
