A) Are there any more applications other than the ones in the 0.6
version being developed separately. Like some kind of NOX cli, or MPLS
support etc. This way we won’t have to duplicate efforts writing the
same piece again.
There are a number of applications being built on top of Nox 0.6,
however they are necessarily to extend the platform. Most of the
development is towards application specific code, such as a new
datacenter control layer, virtual switch control, etc.
B) What is the current state of development in NOX. Are there versions
> 0.6 that are being developed. Is there a process for people to be
involved in the latest development branch or how does a new developer
intending to write applications contribute to the source code without
duplicating efforts done by other folks.
Currently 0.6 is the active development branch. The goal for it is to
simplify the code base (we pulled out a lot of the components that few
were using but added a lot of bloat, and provide support for OF 1.0. To
join development, I would suggest posting your thoughts to this list to
ensure there isn't a duplicate effort and then working on your own
branch pulled from master on noxrepo.org:/srv/git/nox
