[ns] How to get the mobile node's signal strength?!!

I am a fresh ns2 user. In adhoc wireless network, I want to get the node's signal strength, but I've no idea about that. Should I modify the source code such as wireless-phy.cc? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.
