Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a relationship between the length of a wired
link and the packet error rate? Is there a formula? I wish to use it in an
Error Model to find throughputs over different distances.
Thanks,

Dear ns users,
I am looking at general relationships between the various parameters in a
wired network and have got some unexpected results. It seems that there is
no real loss in available throughput when the transmission distance is
increased. However, mathematical equations show significant
Dear all,
I am modelling a wireless network and was wondering if introducing ad hoc
communication would reduce the power needed for transmission from the mobile
nodes. For example, if a mobile node is 20m from a base station would there
be a significant power saving by transmitting through ano
Dear all,
I am working with a simple wireless model and have a query about the
distCST_ value that is displayed when the file is run. Using TwoRayGround
propagation it is 550. This makes sense. But using shadowing propagation the
number is huge (about 300 digits before the decimal point!). How
Dear all,
I am building a simple wireless network model using 802.11. However, I seem
to be observing the same throughputs whether the separation between a
wireless node and base station is 2m or 100m. I have found how to set the
transmission range, but there is still no reduction in throughpu
