I'm really not sure what your trying to accomplish, but C++ in linux is like
C++ in windows... as long as you're not trying to use Win32 API or something.
Heres a log of a hello world app and showing you it working. Don't forget,
this is an NS-2 mailing, not a C++ mailing list :P

Hi,
I am looking through the examples for NS-2 and it seems like all wireless
models are ad-hoc related.
I am looking to create a model that includes an access point to create an
infrastructure scenario.
For example, a scenario with 3 nodes, n0, n1, n2 and n1 and n2 are connected
via a wir
traffic. What I am
using NS for is to simulate latency and such.

Hey guys,
I want to use NS-2 to run my own application for testing. I want it to be a LAN
environment, such that there is a router in the middle, and everyone is
connected to the router.
Then, when the simulation starts, I want my nodes to run a local application
from my computer, so lets sa
