Hello all. I am simulating VANET in ns-2 but I am new to simulations. I want to write down my simulations scenario and get some suggestions/help from anyone. I am facing troubles because its first time I am performing simulations although I have couple of publications but without simulations. I have got myself familiar with operating ns-2. i want to have a straight road with traffic only in one direction. Cars are moving and each car broadcasts beacon messages (containing its location, speed, timestamp, lane information etc) according to DSRC standard every 100-300 ms. Now from a single car's point of view, it will collect the beacons from 1km (which means that some beacons will be coming from multi-hops) and these beacons will be used by the vehicle to construct a local view of the ahead traffic. If I do this, then I will move forward with my idea towards extended view. Any suggestions how to start with?
