When i tried to add a simple protocol, all worked fine during make clean and
make. But when i execute my tcl file, its simply showing a single error
"segmentation fault". Pls do help if any one knows about it. pls specify
what mite be the reason.

reinstall the ns and try again. I had the same problem. Figuring out the seg
fault is not an easy task.
