I have to not tried Ubunto 2.6.27. But I did try Ubuntu 9.10. It doesn't
work. I guess the problem is because of the gcc package in later Linux
distribution. Please see the test result below:

i tried to install ns on redhat 7.2, it's ok with tcl8.3.2 but when i try to
install tk8.3.2, it gives me along list of warnings and errors, end with:

Yeah, I successfully installed ns-allinone-2.29.2 on FC5 but after
slightly modifying the whole package. First, I updated the Tcl and Tk
sources to the 8.4.13 (you can grab a copy from sf.net). Then you'll
have to modify the configure files (Tcl, Tk, OTcl and TclCL) in this way:
cp -v con

If any of the packages in an allinone distribution causes a problem,
try to install it individually. Try to be careful with the configure
and Makelife files, you "might" need to change them, too, after
installing a package alone.

I downloaded just today the allinone version and it doesn't complete the
installation (it stops at tclcl-1.17)
