right easy-playing, almost there, nearly normal, can't play like

Dear all ,
Dartmouth is not a dedicated forum. The one on facebook is, although
it's got its limits. I'd rather not have our forum on the NPS forum
because they do not back what this new group stands for and I don't
agree that the NPS should get the credit afterwards. In fact as I s

smallpipe making , traditional developement and delving into the past

Hello all,
A new Facebook group "The Proper Northumberland Small-pipe Players" has
been founded. Anyone can join if they have a passion for the correct
method of playing the pipes - detached fingering - as opposed to the

Hello all,
the hornet's nest is being stirred here!
the problem is that the best keying arrangement for any one key will be
compromised due to the arpeggios and runs in the different key

Hello all
this instrument does not lack ability, it lacks players who can't play in
the correct method; not many can do that. Expression is emphasised in
precision. I'm not here to delineate. There is no more expression in those
who can play the detached method with feeling.

3/1 should be 1/3, if it is Scotch-snaps.
Look at the Glakey Hornpipe, is it a jig or a hornpipe?

A leaking reed. (blade sides or wrapping)
Any leakage of air above the note you are playing (bad pad seating, fingers
not seating properly or a crack in the chanter letting air in). This will
help to blow into next octave and a 3rd.
