Finally I found some time. I tried two other .mkiv files
(pack-lyr.mkiv and type-otf.mkiv) and *the same* error occurred.
Change in s-mod-00.mkiv

...but there's still a problem. The files pack-lyr.mkiv and
type-otf.mkiv compile just fine, but pack-rul.mkiv still issues an
error. Here's the log:
pack-rul.mkiv - line 1172

%D {\doassigncheckedframeoffset}
