after some testing (including the examples you provided) I can confirm that
this and each of the issues described in my post

have been fixed with update 2024.06.18 22:04.

Using the latest release (ConTeXt ver: 2024.06.16 18:22 LMTX fmt: 2024.6.17,
the following renders correctly with pagella but not cambria.
