We just installed our first two Dell racks, replacing some older HP
ones.
Pluses: Split rear doors, like the versa-rail/PDU setup.
Minuses: don't feel as solid as the HP's, and are deeper as a result of
the versa-rail.
Not sure how I feel about the split side panel...

I just installed my first ocs2007r2 server last week in preperation to
migrating from LCS2005sp1. We had a telephony pilot using the call
control stuff (shim from nortel on a proxy) and the normalization
rules were challenging to get through the logic. I will glance at the
stuff in the config opt
Yep I also recall being told the Dell and HPQ racks at least are APC based.
I have always had Avocent KVMs either directly or rebranded by Dell/HP and have
been fairly happy with them. The newer ones that do everything over CAT5 are so
much easier to deal with than earlier generations where you
with the rate of increase in identity theft, I would take it seriously. Why
risk having someone hack the home network and try to install a keylogger
remotely? What about at your parents home, or family members who may not be as
computer savvy?

FWIW, HP and IBM also make nice rails for their servers, and they all fit
nicely in "Dell" racks as well. (Dell in quotes because, as hinted, it is
believed that APC makes them.)
I'd consider bids from both Dell and APC.
I do know that PDUs from TrippLite are a royal pain to mount as "Zero
I have found the file, yes. Thanks for the link, I will give it a try
Monday. This whole telephony integration thing is a bit of a steep learning
curve for a guy who has never had to manage any telephony at all in his
career until this current gig :-)
