Evicting the old node sounds right. Again, I'm not sure how that works with the new server having the same name. Hopefully, it's a non-issue. Is it saying to stop the cluster service on the surviving member, or the one being evicted? If you are stopping it on the surviving member, I don't know

Is this a workgroup setup ? If so, just turn off DNS, or put an invalid entry in the DNS field of the TCP/IP properties, and use a HOSTS file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc that ONLY has the FQDN and IP for the site you want allowed … Kind of old tech and simple, but very manageable for SM
