In my part of the IT world I would choose neither. I don't believe that any data should reside on the PC. All data should be in a central location that is under DR, HA, redundancy and backup/restore control of an IT team(s). If a PC goes bye bye, it gets rebuilt or restreamed on next boot. G

Is this SharePoint 2010? If so, do you have access to SharePoint workspace as part of Office 2010? That will create an offline copy of your document libraries (and other supported lists). You can then cut-n-paste the lot out to a folder on your local disk. Cheers Ken -Original Message---
