I despise TSM and wish we could migrate away from it. The question is what to migrate to? My main goal is to get away from tape as much as possible and do disk-to-disk backup and snapshots. Tape backup in general has not always been reliable and I would not want to bet the farm on tape. Mike Ori

We'll be moving to another server (that hardware is at least 6 years old, and I fear for its reliability), and bringing the tape robot with it. In the short term, I could leave the old server shut down and set the old tapes aside, but that's not really a good solution. Kurt On Thu, Oct 15, 2009
