I worked with Ultrabac before, nine or so years ago at a previous company, and liked it then, I'm sure it's only gotten better. We're currently backing up 8 servers, most of which are pretty small, though the Exchange server is about 200gb and the file server is now a bit over 2tb. The file server

We do virtual tapes with that Iron Mountain place. Our storage team handles all that. Personally hate TSM. Having to use a batch script for clustered exchange environments? I mean, come on. Steven On Thu, Oct 15, 2009 at 11:56 AM, Kurt Buff wrote: > I'm guessing Virtual Tape Libraries are wh

I despise TSM and wish we could migrate away from it. The question is what to migrate to? My main goal is to get away from tape as much as possible and do disk-to-disk backup and snapshots. Tape backup in general has not always been reliable and I would not want to bet the farm on tape. Mike Ori

We'll be moving to another server (that hardware is at least 6 years old, and I fear for its reliability), and bringing the tape robot with it. In the short term, I could leave the old server shut down and set the old tapes aside, but that's not really a good solution. Kurt On Thu, Oct 15, 2009
