Check
under the job-- Advanced tab
Make
sure "Verify after backup completes" isn't checked. That would definitely double
the time.

Hello, we backup our servers with a Dell DLT 7000 7
Have you tried looking at your switches/hubs to make sure there are not any
performance issues there - full duplex on one side and half duplex on the
other?
G.
Any chance compression was switched off or you now added verify when you
were not doing so in the past?

If you thought you changed a job, you may have implemented another job instead,
that is running right after the first one.
Do you

IMHO -
the best way to verify is to restore a file - I don't advocate back up software
verification

If you
have recently turned on Antivirus software (as we did) for your backup servers,
it will, at the very least, double the length of time it takes. If, of
course, you are using real-time scanning, the index files are constantly
changing and are constantly being scanned at

No
verify, No virus scan during the backup via Veritas.
Manually test your backups every couple weeks.
