If you’re meaning Cisco business vs home gear, you might want to look into
HP’s gear.  I’m using m110’s all throughout, and they support multiple
“virtual communities”, so you can have one that is WPA2 encrypted & tied to
the intranet (all the same SSID) & one that is open and in the DMZ (again,
same but different than the first SSID).

Hi all, I was looking for some less than cisco expensive wireless networking
gear. We are going to put a wireless network in the DMZ and would like to
have a single SSID for the whole floor. A little signal testing looks like
we will need 2 repeaters and an access point. 

 

I was debating getting a set of wireless devices that can mesh together like
Cisco, as I haven’t had a lot of good experiences with the low end signal
repeaters , but thought I would see what people were using in the low-mid
range area …
