Yes, it didn't make

the future. It would probably also speed official
adoption of the new version by SUSE maintainers. Are
you aware of the SUSE build service?

Hello,
I'm using NUT with an MGE Ellipse USB, which I
understand to be rather slow to respond. Every time I
start the NUT services, I get the "Communications
lost" notifications at first, but then it starts to
work normally. I've increased polling frequencies in
upsmon.conf to the point that I get
I tried the 2.0.2-5 package; it seemed to be missing
the newhidups driver?? I had to roll back to 2.0.2-4.
No package was available for 2.0.3.

I was referring to the hack, which I put in an init
script. Of course, this won't help when the device is
re-plugged. Is the new package ready to handle that
scenario? If so, I could try it out and report back.

Works for me on SUSE 10 without modification.

Apologies, I replied to author instead of the list.

As for the hwup mechanism, I don't have the first clue
about that. For now I'll sit back and give you a
chance to chat with Novell.

This thread is FYI. I don't need any help here. I have SUSE 10.0 and an MGE Ellipse. I installed the NUT package from MGE. 1) The generated ups.conf pointed to a bad location: /dev//dev/input/event0 2) The hidups driver will not work with SUSE 10 out of the box. To make it work (which was academi
reconnect the USB cable, a new device is created with the wrong permissions
(root:root/0644). I suppose I could write myself an init script to fix the permissions before NUT starts, but I'd rather just get hotplug to do what is expected of it. Any ideas? Thanks, Paul Mogren
