HI
As I will have limited resources, 2 computers with 2 usb bus each and
8-10 cheap upses in the same room that distribute power to other room,
wired with ethernet and power cables, I can't have each computer
from the other room connected to each ups obviously but should do for
some usb hubbing an

HI
By browsing on the net I found http://www.usb-server.com/
it's a USB sharing over ethernet. It could be a viable solution
that on one PC I have USB hub and this software (and somehow
configure it to be hubbed-port distinguishable) and via
ethernet distribute USB ports to the master NUT server r

This may be an "outside the box" solution, but perhaps, get a cheap ($10)

iSerial=0
not only cyberpower unit but also many other manufacturers
have constant serial number in usb interfaces
I can ask cyberpower if they can help me set this serial
number but the chances are small I guess

Davor already posted the output of lsusb - i
Hello,
the usbhid driver can distinguish different devices by their serial
number.
Just look for "iSerial" in lsusb -v and add an matching "serial" in
ups.conf.

HI
I'm planning to have 8 or even more UPS-es
monitored by the same system, Those cyberpower
units are very cost effective. Adding each
hub or other adapter per each usb raises the
overall cost so I would prefer if it could be a software
only solution.
Can we have a libusb proxy that would reliab

This isn't possible/portable. Only the kernel is aware which physical

I would like to connect several Cyberpower Value 800E devices
over a USB hub to a single host. Problem is how to distinguish
them in order to correctly identify because lsusb - -d and upsc
show the same device name and serial number is 0
