There is a package for 14.04 now.
You can also build from source: copy control.Debian-wheezy to
control.Ubuntu-trusty and run make_debs.sh

looks like 14.04 should have

have you tried manually installing liibperl?

I would prefer using the deb package however it's reporting an unmet
dependency that cannot be fulfilled.
nxlog-ce depends on libperl5.14 (>= 5.14.2)
