[nysbirds-l] Makamah Nature Preserve, Suffolk County

I went for a nice three hour hike this morning after being very anxious to get out once the rainstorm passed.  I enjoyed a peaceful birding day at Makamah Nature Preserve with the highlights below. Red-tailed Hawk- 1 Great-horned Owl- 1 Belted Kingfisher- 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker- 2 Eastern

[nysbirds-l] Sandhill Cranes- Yes... plus some other nice sightings!

This morning, Dick Belanger and I set out for Sagaponack. Once on territory, our preliminary stop, at the n/end of Sagg Pond, yeilded 3 Ospreys & a Ring-necked Pheasant. Checking all the fields on our way down to the s/end of the pond produced... "nada"! Of note, was the length of the pond's
