Had atleast one juvenile screech-owl calling outside my friends home tonight on
Spaulding Drive in Yorktown Heights. Hadn't heard that call from a screech yet
but have with great horneds.

Thanks to Andrew Baksh (and his scope!) for pointing the way to the Hudsonian
Godwit at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. It was still feeding with a group of
Dowitchers just south of Sanderling Point on the west side of the East Pond.
It could be seen from the clearing behind the outtake valve at
Correction. Godwit was past Sanderling point which is on the North West and
not far from the North Island. Thanks to Doug Gochfield for pointing out that I
had posted 'raunt'.

Before the rain came, I found a Hudsonian Godwit just across the raunt from the
North End of the East Pond. I was able to see the bird from the North West end
from the East Pond as well as from the overlook at
Yesterday, Sun.7/18, The Eastern Long Island Audubon Society sponsored the
