This morning about 7:30 AM, I saw a large raptor on a light pole just north of
the Meadowbrook Parkway toll booths. It was a very quick glance of the back. I
thought it was one of the Ospreys that are seen on the poles at this time of
year, but the bird had an all white head. When I
No Mitra-like luck for me. It seems the Godwits have left. I did not see any
terns at first, then on the rising tide a few Royal Terns flew by. Near the
inlet to the west were a distant group of medium sized terns, probably Commons.
Shorebirds were few in numbers and diversity. Only 2 SB
i spent a few hours (7:00AM to 9:00AM) birding at RMSP this morning. At the
golf course a Yellow-breasted Chat was in the shrubbery on the north side of
the golf course adjacent to the four wheel drive road. At the volleyball courts
at the east end of Field 2, there was a second Yellow-breasted
I had good looks at a juvenile Sora this morning between 8 and 8:30. The bird
was foraging in the swampy area next to the stand of phragmites on the path
along the north side of the Lullwater just north of the skating rink and just
before a fork in the path that leads up slope to the Terrace
