Hello Everyone,Dick Belanger and I entered the Epcal entrance this
morning and found Kathy Klecan already having nice scope views of the Lark
Sparrow. With it were a few Tree and 18 Field Sparrow. We spent a good deal
of time along the runways later and came up with 3 Redtails, 2 Northern
Today at 3:00 PM, I observed an American bittern on the marsh (bay) side of
Dune Road, between Neptune's and Triton Lane. The bird was very successfully
hunting in a pool directly across from the Town of Southampton Sand Bar Beach,
so maybe it will remain in the area.

Eric Miller, Glenn Mullen, Brendan Fogarty along with his Mom and I observed
the Tufted Duck until around 4:30 PM in Cold Spring Harbor. The duck, was seen
near the spot where it was originally found. Please see previous posts for
directions.

We went north to Cold Spring Harbor this morning around 8:00AM and found a
group of birders eyeing the Tufted Duck. Satisfied with the looks we had of the
bird we moved on to Bayville in the hope that the Barrow's Goldeneye might be

during the 1930s and 1940s).
