In addition to what John Haas wrote, I went on my "goosechase" yesterday
(Thursday 3/9) with hopes of finding the snow geese flocks closer to the
road in order to get photographs. The Wallkill is well over its banks in
most places. Thus far this doesn't seem to have affected any paved roads.

The Snow Goose numbers seemed somewhat down to me this morning. I believe
there were only about 5,500 Snows split between three locations. Onion Ave
initially had about a 1,000 birds. They were distant and I was unable to make

I was very surpised to see a small group, maybe 4, of Wild Turkeys feeding on
the west shoulder. This was a little before the green sign saying Southern
State 1 mile. I also noticed a school to the right through the
It's 10:15 and the GWF reported by Alex Wilson a few days ago is in right field
of one of the ballfields on the north side of Calvert Vaux Park (formerly
Drier-Offermann) in Brooklyn. It is in a flock of 60-70 Canadas.
