When I first arrived at Patchogue Lake to search for the Eurasian Wigeon
yesterday afternoon, I failed to locate it at the south end of the lake.
Overall, the waterfowl numbers appeared relatively low at the south end. I
continued up to the north end of the lake where the drake Eurasian Wigeon
Same commercial plaza off Dunning Road NW of intersection of Schutt Rd in
Mechanicsville as yesterday, now in median of parking lot in front of Toys-R-Us
with 10 or so Canada Geese.

An hour and a half of seawatching from the Boardwalk at Coney Island this
morning didn't turn up any unexpected species, but numbers of several species
were higher than anticipated.
Of the 1,500-2,000 Gulls (mostly feeding far offshore off of Breezy Point),
there were ~150 Bonaparte's Gulls, an
11/16/11 Roosevelt Truck Trail (Minerva, Essex Co.)
I had a beautiful walk on the Roosevelt Truck Trail today. I don't recall
ever finding as many Boreal Chickadees on one walk before. Views of the
Boreal Chickadees were terrific throughout the hike. Winds were calm all
day (not as forecast)
