The exceptionally calm conditions on Sunday made for excellent viewing of
waterbirds on Gardiner's Bay, the outer portion of the Peconic Estuary and
situated between the south and north forks of Long Island (Suffolk Co).

We are running our now annual nearshore pelagic in New York waters on
Saturday, January 14. We'll again be working with the Capt. Lou Fleet that
that we've used in the past. The boat is comfortable with a birdable top

My only birding on Saturday was a 45-minute evening walk at Gardiner County
Park, sw Suffolk Co.; the highlight was a Yellow-breasted Chat.
Patricia Lindsay and I built on this theme on Sunday morning, when Pat re-found
one of two chats we saw last Sunday in the thickets east of Mecox Bay Inlet;
