Once the morning fog lifted at Coney Island I realized that there was an
unusually large number of Northern Gannets sitting in the water off of the
Steeplechase Pier. I counted 131, but there were lots more flying around much

After a long absence, the MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD reappeared at the spot described by
Michael McBrien (thanks, Mike!). This is between #337 and #386 on the curve of
Hulse Landing Road just before Sound Ave. The MBB was hawking off some wire
tree guards.

The Mountain Bluebird continues this morning in Calverton. It was not
present at its usual location along Rt. 25A when we first arrived.
However, we relocated the bluebird in a small field on the east side
of Hulse Landing Road north of the treeline. It was frequenting the
