I visited EPCAL both yesterday (Saturday) and today (Sunday). On Saturday,
the winds were really ripping but I was able to check out both runways
since the skydiving outfit was not operating. Between both runways, there
were at least 20 American Kestrels, and 1 Northern Harrier, re-affirming
that
A CONNECTICUT WARBLER was at Calvert Vaux Park in Brooklyn today, in
the strip between the Six Diamonds ball fields and the tidal basin.
It was a first for me at the park, though there are at least three
records over the last five years, all from the same general area as
today’s sighting.
About 70 Royal Terns were present on the bar at Pike's Beach this morning.
Large numbers of Black Skimmer were there as well, with good numbers of
skimmers at the Cupsogue flats as well. A brief seawatch at Cupsogue was
highlighted by 2 Cory's Shearwaters that lingered dor a while straight out
Several friends suggested I post this NJ sighting to the NY list. A
Crested Caracara was found yesterday afternoon by Vincent Nichnadowicz in a
farm field in West Windsor, Mercer County, NJ. I got great views of it
this morning, and when I left it was hunkered down in the middle of the
field (the

>From the county road looking west, 26 American golden plovers.
