Hey Birders,
Well today was quite simply an exceptional day. Brandon Holden
Andria B. and I just left the park after 10 + hours of birding and seven
species of warblers, but not the prize.
Warblers seen included *OVENBIRD, AMERICAN REDSTART, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER,
NORTHERN PARULA, BLACKPOLL WARBLER, BLACK-THROATED BLUE and TENNESSEE
WARBLER.*

Seen this morning on northeast section of pond. Northern Pintail,
Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Bufflehead, Ruddy Duck, Gadwall,
American Coot, Mallard, Northern Shoveler were also present.

Thanks to Dale Dancis and Lynne Hertzog I was alerted to the presence
of Northern Gannets on the Hudson River. From 1:20 this afternoon
until I left at 2:45 Northern Gannets were continually in view from
the end of the 70th Street Pier at River Side Park, Manhattan. The

It has not been found as of 9:30. The sun is out this morning, so viewing
eastward toward the gully has been a problem. Yet, the Redstart has been
making its presence known repeatedly and more than one Parula has been in
the area. Moments of hope have been dashed by Ruby-crowned Kinglets.
