I spent the day at the Massapequa Preserve. I saw 53 species, pretty good for a winter's day of birding. [nysbirds-l] Western Grebe, Irondequoit, Monroe County

March 14 - Today between 1:25 and 1:40 PM I observed the Western Grebe. It was about 5 to 10 yards to the right of the Lighthouse at the end of the west pier at the Irondequoit Bay outlet. It was with 8 White-winged Scoters. It was a treacherous windy icy walk. Best Wishes for Great Bir
