Thank you to Andrew for posting the updated information about the Elegant Tern.My dad and I birded the Cupsogue flats on a rising tide this afternoon. Just as we were about to leave around 5:45, we scanned the tern flock once more and realized that the Elegant Tern had appeared amidst the flock.
I will be looking for the ELTE tomorrow and would like to join forces with
anyone else that might be trying. Low tide is 3:31 p.m. on the flats and I am

who with his dad had the Elegant Tern drop in at the Cupsogue just as they
were leaving the flats.
They managed to get the word out to birders who had staked out Tiana Beach
and some managed to get over in time while other

Since no one posted a full report from Cupsogue yesterday, I should let you
know that Black, Roseate and Arctic Terns were all seen at the Cupsogue
flats yesterday. As you know so was the Elegant Tern, which was seen at
Tiana Beach down the road from Cupsogue.
