I am back in NYC for a spell, and this afternoon managed to find a few
hours to bird my local park, Kissena Corridor, in Flushing, Queens. I was late
getting out, so the park was almost silent, but I worked a small patch east of

The Lark Sparrow continues as per David Klauber's directions at Robert
Moses State Park. The bird was viewed by Erich and Barbara Glanz and myself
between 5:30-6:30. It was absent for a bit while a fox was on the prowl.

Our NYC Audubon Wed. morning birding group recorded 46 species. The
highlights were 13 warbler species (Tennessee (3), Nashville, Parula, Magnolia,
BT Blue, BT Green, Yel-rumps, Pine, Prairie, Blackpoll, B&W, Redstart,
C.yellow-throat), Blue-headed Vireo, Red-eyed Vire
The previously reported Lark Sparrow continues on the road to the lighthouse
east of the hawkwatch, near a large dune on the right side of the road. Just
east of the Park headquarters building near field 3 there was a Gray-cheeked
